Oscillating was motivated by an immersion in the landscapes present in the films of António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro and by a poetic reflection on the transformation of the elements.
The lake, recurring element in the duo's films, as a cosmic and existential reflection, is here the result of a slow drawing, engraved on the metal plate, originated in single point in the center that is expanded. As a calcographic matrix, it condenses the possibility of multiples, of the continuous repetition. On its reverse side, mutations and interpenetrations of similar images succeed each other, in a video that focuses on the same oval shape that was carved into the stone over time and where the fluidity of water and the fluidity of fire meet. The tremors in the video, the reflections and the oscillations of the suspended support reinforce the tension between these elements.
